Q&A: What are the religious ramifications if abortion is an effective way to prevent crime?
Question by Piece Chance: What are the religious ramifications if abortion is an effective way to prevent crime?
The author Steve Levitt has written that since the judgment of Roe vs Wade ( effectively legalizing abortion ) crime has decreased. In five States that introduced legal abortion three years prior to Roe vs Wade the crime rate decreased three years earlier than the national average.
If legal abortion is an effective crime controller can it be resolved with the religious community?
Or would the religious community be willing to take on the burden and responsibility of the unwanted children and subsequent criminal element in society, for example pay and police the extra prisons and parole offices?

Q&A: How soon after abortion can you get pregnant?
Question by Sweety: How soon after abortion can you get pregnant?
My sister had a medical abortion when she was 5 weeks pregnant. She started using birth control pills one week after the abortion. Two weeks after the abortion she had sex. She took plan B about 60 hours after. It’s been a month since the abortion (4 weeks exactly) and she hasn’t gotten her period? She bled lightly for a few hours, but that’s it. Could she be pregnant? How soon after a medical abortion do HCG levels disappear?
Best answer:
Answer by TJ
Yes she could. Why not use a condom until after the BC has totally kicked in?
As far as the HCG:
“How long it takes for you the HCG levels to reside depends on at what point in the pregnancy you had the termination, HCG levels are higher at certain points, and so therefore would take longer to come back down. 6-12 weeks are times of high HCG.
your fertility is very high immediately following an abortion, however, if you have been very careful, you are probably fine.
also, HCG levels can take longer to come down if tissue was left behind during the procedure…if this was the case you would develop symptoms of infection such as a fever, cold sweats, fatigue, abdominal pain, etc.. and should see your doc right away.
additionally, if you are really concerned, your doc can draw a blood serum test and see what exactly the HCG levels are and probably tell if they are lingering from the previous pregnancy or you are preg. again. if they suspect you are preg. they can do an ultrasound, which im sure u already know.”
“It depends on how far along you were when you had the abortion. If the abortion was at 8-10 weeks when the HCG level may be as high as 150,000 mIU, then 2 weeks after the abortion the HCG level may be as high as 1,500 mIU. High enough that sensitive HCG tests will remain positive for a long as 40 days after a first trimester abortion. After a full-term delivery the level will have dropped to less than 50 mIU within 2 weeks and undetectable within 3-4 weeks.”

Help for the grief, By
Dianne (Colorado) – See all my reviews
This review is from: C.P.R.: Choice Processing and Resolution (Paperback)
Ms. Johnson has truely addressed the issues facing women who have made the choice to end a pregnancy and all the emotions, fear, guilt, shame and regret that can go along with that decision. For me, having to deal with being talked into an abortion by the father and not having the strength to stand up for what I believe in (which is against abortion)had left me empty, remorseful, and grief stricken. Her book has helped tremendously. There was no judgement or condemnation (I did enough of that on my own) in her book. Only the truth of her own experience and how to heal the grief, identify the emotions, and ulimately move on. I would recommend this book to anyone who has had or who is thinking about getting an abortion.

Finding Peace, By
Molly (MA , United States) – See all my reviews
This review is from: C.P.R.: Choice Processing and Resolution (Paperback)
I have kept a secret from nearly everyone for more than half my life. But could I still be feeling heartache and shame from a legal, deliberate choice that I had made more than 30 years ago? The answer was YES! C.P.R.: Choice Processing and Resolution is not about whether abortion is right or wrong, and it’s not about shame or guilt. It is about what to do when you realize that your heart and mind are, indeed, still grieving years later. Trudy becomes the “best friend” to whom you can finally open your heart. She leads you through the painful, on-going process of recovery, to the point where you can begin to grieve the loss, forgive yourself, and reach a point of healing and peace. |

Q&A: Why would the Abortion rights people be upset over the Executive Order regarding abortion?
Question by pdooma: Why would the Abortion rights people be upset over the Executive Order regarding abortion?
If there was no funding for abortion in the bill, and the Hyde Amendment would pass, why would the NOW folks and the Pro-Choice people in the House be upset that the President is planning on reinforcing it with an Executive Order?
Unless….
Best answer:
Answer by MI
He did the Executive Order but it’s useless, the NOW folks and Pro-choicers do not need to worry because Obama himself can rescind the order or a future president…no act of congress needed.

This book gave me a lot of insight into my own life EVEN THOUGH I AM CHILDLESS BY CHOICE. I am so glad I read this book, and I hope this book will encourage others to share their life experiences regarding abortion. I also hope the book will encourage people to NOT keep silent regarding abortion or other important issues in their lives. Don’t keep issues bottled up–talk about them! Judy Bogden

Compelling and Honest–A breakthrough for post-abortive women!,
This review is from: Can’t Keep Silent: A Woman’s 22-Year Journey of Post-Abortion Healing (Paperback)
I picked up this book and couldn’t put it down. I had no idea of the potential range of emotional and relationship challenges caused by an abortion. Lydia describes the challenges one faces relating to one’s future children, sexual issues, fear and inability to bond, and depression and even suicide. I know there are thousands, if not millions of women walking around with all of these unresolved, painful issues that they don’t know the root of and feel they cannot even speak about. Thank God Lydia could no longer keep silent. The best part of her book is that she actually found healing for her pain and she shares how others can achieve it as well. This is a “must-read” for all post-abortive women! God bless Lydia and her family.

Walk in Physical, Emotional & Spiritual FREEDOM, By
This review is from: Can’t Keep Silent: A Woman’s 22-Year Journey of Post-Abortion Healing (Paperback)
Lydia Clarke has written a revelatory, intimate, and insightful first hand account of the truthful consequences of abortion. She bares her soul and provides the reader with valuable information on post-abortive stressors. If you care to know the TRUTH about the horrors of abortion and its aftermath results, this book is a must read! I have never had an abortion, however, I found Lydia’s story most compelling and heartfelt. Thus, all women (post-abortive, or not) CAN relate to Lydia’s story at some level. She focuses on issues and/or themes of self-esteem, love, bitterness, and self-hatred. She also provides the reader with valuable resources (contact information) for post-abortive women searching for help for healing and wholeness. Lydia’s story is well written. Her writing style allows for an easy read as to capture the thought, clarity, heart, and intimacy of her text. One is not bombarded, or overthrown by unnecessary academic jargon. If you desire to be set free from a HISTORY of physical, emotional and/or spiritual bondage and turmoil — whether a victim of abortion or not — this book is for ALL people; this book is for you! It’s time to be SET free! |
Q&A: If abortion was made to be both unnecessary and undesirable would legality matter?
Question by Michael: If abortion was made to be both unnecessary and undesirable would legality matter?
If you oppose abortion on moral grounds, then legality is the least of your concerns. We should fight to make it so no one ever chooses to have an abortion or provide one, before legal issues are dealt with. Do ‘pro-choice’ people support abortion itself, or would they be happy with ‘choice’ if no one ever had an abortion, legal or otherwise?
Best answer:
Answer by How_Would_I_Know
It already is unnecessary.
99.9% of people how have had an abortion did so because they did something stupid. If you don’t want to get pregnant, it’ not really that hard to make sure it doesn’t happen.
