How come hospitals don’t have dental departments for after hours emergency dental care ?

Question by QTIP: How come hospitals don’t have dental departments for after hours emergency dental care ?
A friend of mine broke his tooth on Friday evening. He went to a local hospital emergency room and was given pain meds and told to see his dentist first thing Monday morning. Why can’t hospitals provide emergency dental care !

The problem is most hospitals don’t see dental care as a priority, but I do know that’s changing to an extent. I can relate to your question though, specially after a root canal and extraction — Had to take painkillers at 10pm as there was no way to reach a dentist.

How much does dental care cost at Dental School Programs?

Question by Steph_Sumner: How much does dental care cost at Dental School Programs?
My husband hasn’t been to a dentist since he was 12 or 13 and he is now 22. I would like to take him to the dentist to have his teeth checked and cleaned with the possibility of fillings and of course he’ll need X-rays. I was wondering what the average cost of dental care is if you would go to a dental school program? We live in West Virginia and are looking to go to the WVU School of Dentistry. We also do not have any health insurance. Thanks for your help.

You will pay anywhere from 50% -60% less for any work done in the dental school compared to the costs at a private dentist.

Is it safe to add dental care products to dogs water?

Question by Brianne: Is it safe to add dental care products to dogs water?
I bought Pet Dental dental care liquid form to add to my 4 pugs water to control plaque and tarter and freshen breath. Now Some co-workers don’t think it’s safe to do and I’m wondering if it is or isn’t.

Best answer:

Answer by The Greek
For the cost of them, and their benefit, I would say no. If your feeding properly, and doing regular vet checkups that include dental checks, then there really is no benefit to them.

That many chemicals just go right down their throat anyway, it’s not like they close their mouth and swish it around.
