This is a fine product for a motorcycle or scooter (have both). The locking/unlocking mechanism works well (no fiddling needed). The key light is useful when trying to unlock the lock at night, although it is a red LED which isn’t as good as the white LED that I have with another similar lock from OnGuard. I find that I fiddle more with the OnGaurd lock when unlocking that one compared to the this Trimax.

I have yet to use it but it is heavy and solid. I can not imagine anyone getting it off without causing a scene. They would have to put the bike on something and take the whole motorcycle, so that is why I have an alarm system too. Great combination!

I have had a sore throat for 2 days now. I got strep a lot as a kid,but haven’t for a few years now. How can you tell if your sore throat is just from having a cold or from having strep throat? Thanks!

Ugh, I’m a strep throat pro. 2 cases in 3 weeks, NOT FUN! The deal with strep is it can be either viral or bacterial. How do you know the diff? Viral typically comes along with cold symptoms, sneezing, coughing, runny nose, congestion, etc. Viruses do NOT need antibiotics and will run their course in a week or so. Every time I’ve had strep throat i have NO cold symptoms and it comes on very suddenly. As in a matter of hours, i have a pretty painful sore throat. If you have a mini light, you can check out the back of your throat. Are your tonsils swollen? Do you see yellow/white spots on the back of the throat? If so, it’s likely strep bacteria. Also, you tend to have higher fevers when it’s bacterial, above 101.

I’ve had strep throat for about 4-5 days now, and I know that it’s simply a throat infection caused by bacteria. However, I am curious as to how it can cause my nose to stuff up and for me to cough and have the symptoms of a cold.

What you describe (nasal congestion and cough along with the pharyngitis) sounds more like a viral infection rather than streptococcal sore throat. Has a physician definitely diagnosed strep throat, or are you simply assuming that is the condition? If it is in fact a streptococcal infection, you should be receiving treatment with a penicillin.

Very practical ear muffs,

I have been buying 180s ear muffs for about 10 years from Hudson’s Bay in Quebec City Canada where I live. They are by far the best I have ever used. They completely, snugly and securely cover my ears, without causing any discomfort, including little or no sweating which is usually a big problem for me. They also take up very little space so I have no trouble, for example, fastening my bike helmet over them, which I do every day during the winter when I ride 12km to work. Frozen toes, fingers, and cheeks are big problems, but my ears are always fine. They wash easily, and in none that I have owned has the slide fit mechanism, or any other part, ever failed. I usually keep two pairs, losing on average one pair a year.

I bought them for someone with apparently too large a head for the “one size fits all” ear warmer. I could wear them OK, but they fit pretty tightly on my head and made my ears sore after wearing them for an hour. Not sure if this is normal for all ear warmers or not. They did keep my ears from becoming cold though. |
