A wonderful book about the first trimester of pregnancy!, January 11, 2010

I really enjoyed reading this pregnancy book. Unlike other pregnancy books out there, this one is organized week-by-week, so I can follow along with my pregnancy. Under each pregnancy week, it goes into detail about your baby’s development, changes you might be experiencing during that week (like morning sickness and fatigue), pregnancy symptoms, and pregnancy complications that can arise. The fun tidbits, facts, and tips were really entertaining and very helpful.

I’d recommend this book to any new moms-to-be. It’s a must-have!

Got pregnancy questions? I know I did! Your Pregnancy MD: The First Trimester truly has all the answers that you are looking for! If you’re like me, and this is your first pregnancy, you want to know everything there is about pregnancy, about what’s happening in your baby, why you’re feeling so sick and nauseous in the first weeks of pregnancy. But I wanted to know more than just that. I wanted more details, more information, I wanted to know the how and why of everything. And this book gave me all the answers!

It’s written by a retired obstetrician and it was very easy to read.

Worried about pregnancy complications? This book covers those too! And not just the common ones that everyone worries about, like miscarriage, getting sick from the flu, and other viruses . . . but Dr. Brann even hits the topics that you never think about, like urinary tract infections during pregnancy, molar pregnancies, vanishing twin syndrome, and more!

This pregnancy book will even help you figure out what you can eat and can’t eat. If you’re a vegetarian like me, this can be challenging but Your Pregnancy MD: The First Trimester gave me some great tips on getting that protein into my diet without having to eat meat!

Genetic disorders are also covered in detail. Other things include lifestyle choices that can affect your baby, including food and nutrition, back to back pregnancies, and even information about what to expect from your prenatal visits.

I absolutely LOVE this book. It is definitely the one-stop-shop for all things pregnancy! I can’t wait until Dr. Brann decides to release a 2nd trimester pregnancy book!

Teen mothers to be, July 6, 2003

This review is from: Fifteen and Pregnant (DVD)

When I first saw this movie I was touched. I was also fifteen and pregnant. It helped me to understand how my life would be turned upside down and still turn out alright. I got to look at all points of view. How tina felt and how her mother had to struggle to try to keep her family togteher. I would recomend this movie to any body. Fahter or mother.

Good Movie, June 3, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Fifteen and Pregnant (DVD)

First of all,I think the other reviews are wrong, because this movie isnt just about "Kirsten Dunst", its deals with her whole family in the movie. It’s a great movie about a girl who is 15 and she gets pregnant by a boy who leaves her and she ends up going to a school for young pregnant girls, and then she has it all on her own without her boyfriend. It’s a great movie but its only for Mothers and girl teens, because they can learn from the movie if a mothers young daughter ever gets pregnant early. yes, Kirsten does give a great performance but its not just about her,the mother in the movie goes through a lot too. Great movie for a mother daughter to sit down and watch together!!

Q&A: Will home pregnancy tests still work a few months or ever all the way through the pregnancy?

Question by pnd: Will home pregnancy tests still work a few months or ever all the way through the pregnancy?
What I mean is, is what they are testing for only present in the first month or so of the pregnancy, or will they still work throughout the pregnancy or at least in the first half or so? Would pregnant women who were 2, 4, 7, 8, and 9 months pregnant get accurate results if they used a home pregnancy test? Thank you guys.

Love the Belly Band. A must have!, May 31, 2009
By

I purchased 3 different Bella (or belly) bands at the beginning of my pregnancy with my 3rd child. I wish I had had them with my other two pregnancies. They were fabulous. The baby be mine belly band was longer than the actual “bella” band that everyone was raving about. I was a little concerned with the size and afraid that I wouldn’t get the right size, but I went with the smaller of the two choices that could have fit me. I was very happy with the fit. Overall, I was able to wear most of my non-maternity pants with the band and they stayed up. I did have to adjust the band and pull the pant back up a bit once in a while, but I was very pleased. Now that my son is born, I use the band under my shirts when nursing. It has been great not to worry about exposing my stomach when I lift up my shirt. I just tuck the band into the strap of my bra and it is long enough to cover my entire abdomen and hold in those last few baby pounds.

I highly recommend this product.

Love it!, August 19, 2008
By
J. Jaeger (Olympia, WA) – See all my reviews

I am really happy with the Belly Bands. They have really helped me out in my first trimester. I am 9 or 10 weeks along, small framed, and already beginning to show! Within the first 6-7 weeks my shorts and pants were alread too snug for me to button all the way. What I do is this: Turn it inside out and put it on. Then I tuck the bottom part in like it was a tee shirt, and then fold the top half over my waistband. Since my belly is not big yet, it just covers up my unbottoned pants.

Today I am wearing my low-rize jeans. When I sit down, the band doesn’t do the total job of holding up the back of my pants, but I still think this is the best solution until I am ready for maternity pants.

I plan to buy more colors!

Inferior product and shady business, August 28, 2010
By
G. Steber (San Francisco, CA) – See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)

I purchased two of the Baby Be Mine bamboo belly bands (black and white) directly from their website. The fabric was brittle- I have no other way of describing it. The band seemed to show “scars” after trying it on once, and tried on it didn’t convince me that it would secure my pants. I sent both of them back for a refund. I contacted the company at the same time, but no response. After a month of not seeing any refund on my statement I emailed them again, and subsequently several times. They never responded and there was also no phone number on the website. I was quite desolate to realize my money (.95) was gone. I then had my child and didn’t think about it anymore. Several months later I thought I would try contacting them again. Surprisingly, this time someone got back to me. But instead of apologizing for the incident “Isabelle” requested the tracking information of the package, then said she couldn’t do anything for me without this information. I didn’t have the slip from the post office anymore and this was the end of it.

I recommend staying away from Baby Be Mine Maternity- they managed to provide me with my worst Internet shopping experience by far.
